Fatal Minnetonka Storage Facility Shooting: Victim Identified
Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Friday at a Public Mini Storage location in Minnetonka.
MINNETONKA, MN — Authorities are investigating at a fatal shooting that occurred Friday at at Public Mini Storage location in Minnetonka. On June 23 at approximately 11:10 a.m., Minnetonka police responded to a report of a dispute between two adult males on the 2800 block of Hedberg Drive. While en route, police were notified shots were fired.
Officers arrived on the scene and found an adult male with a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police located and apprehended a suspect – James Lacount, 65 – without incident. He is being held pending charges, according to a news release. Police are not seeking any further suspects in this case.

The victim was identified by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner as Thomas Edward Luetzow, 58.
Minnetonka Police were assisted by the following agencies: Minnesota State Patrol, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, Plymouth Police, St. Louis Park Police, Maple Grove Police, Edina Police and Hopkins Police.
